Live Monitored CCTV Systems Could Prevent Future House Invasions – Netwatch Business Owners Targeted at Home by Criminal Gangs Netwatch, the Carlow based intelligent visual security company, has witnessed a significant increase in the number of requests for private residence security monitoring services from private business owners over the last six months.
Netwatch currently provide their high tech monitoring services and cctv systems to over 1,500 private residences and businesses around the country and across the world.
David Walsh, Group CEO of Netwatch, said, “Criminal gangs are targeting business owners as they believe they have access to cash and other valuables. But they are not targeting the places of business which may be well protected by security companies but rather the homes of business owners as these are generally less secure.”
“People protect their place of business as a matter of course but when it comes to protecting the ones we love we sometimes forget the same risks can apply – especially now that criminal gangs are targeting private homes,” continued Walsh.
Unlike many traditional intruder alarm companies, Netwatch aims to prevent the crime taking place and also protects the individual themselves. Netwatch first developed personal protection technologies as an offshoot of the company’s regular business monitoring service.
“The latest security technology allows us to monitor and interact with situations in real time and this can be the difference between a situation being resolved without incident or a situation escalating to violence,” said Walsh
Netwatch’s personal protection services range from private residence protection to monitoring of individuals through GPS and intercom technologies. An individual monitored by Netwatch has 24hr contact with one of Netwatch’s Intervention Specialists based in the security company’s Communication Hub in Carlow.
“We are getting more and more requests to protect private homes with our live cctv systems and audio intervention and the main reason for this is not to protect valuable items that may be kept there but to ensure that family members are protected and safe in the case of emergencies.
The Netwatch Personal Protector (NPP) is one of the technologies that Netwatch have developed to counteract violence against an individual. The NPP is a small portable GPS tracking device which is carried innocuously upon the person and is linked into Netwatch Communication Hub in Carlow. The NPP works both indoors and outdoors and they are fitted with a two way audio system which allows the Communication Hub to monitor a situation in real time and receive and give information to the user.
The NPP can also come with a tilt sensor which will be activated in the case of a fall or a physical assault. Once the unit is activated the Intervention Specialists in the Netwatch Communication Hub can monitor the situation and notify emergency services.
The NPP can also be installed in value items such as vehicles, boats and helicopters and is so discreet that even the most experienced criminal will struggle to detect it. Once the unit is activated it will alert Netwatch to your position and allow two-way conversation between the user and the Communication Hub. In the event of an incident occurring Netwatch will implement a pre agreed protocol to ensure user is safe and reassured.
