Employee of the Year 2011 PDF Print E-mail

Our second Employee of the Year awards took place recently in the beautiful surroundings of the Step House Hotel in Borris, Co. Carlow.

The event is a celebration of employees who have gone above and beyond for Netwatch in the past year and the achievements of the Netwatch team as a whole and is a great way of getting us all together.

David Walsh, our Group CEO said the night honoured all staff and how we as a team rose to the challenges and through hard work and dedication grew the business significantly in 2011.

Netwatch – Our Name in Lights PDF Print E-mail

“I said to my wife this morning, did you ever think when we started just 8 years ago that I’d be sharing the same stage in Thomond Park with the legendary Mick Galwey..’ said Niall Kelly, Netwatch co-founder as he spoke to the crowd at the Netwatch  Crime Prevention Lunch.

Over 100 of Limerick’s leading business and political figures gathered in Thomond Park on Friday, 22nd July to discuss the need for increased business security at the first Netwatch Business Lunch.

As Mick Galwey regaled us with yarns his trials and triumphs on the pitch we overlooked (and some unorthodox security methods in his hometown of Castleisland, Co. Kerry), I couldn’t help glancing over at the Thomond Park score emblazoned with ‘Welcome Netwatch’.

On the 8th of June Adrian Norton, General Manager of Netwatch and I travelled to India as part of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition. Netwatch were finalists in 2007, and each year the alumni and the current finalists travel to an overseas destination for a series of workshops, CSR projects and meetings. What an amazing experience!

India as a country has to be experienced to be believed. The sheer scale of everything overwhelms the senses. With a population of over 1billion people, India experiences the best and worst of a developing nation; and an economy that is growing at 10% per annum. These sort of growth rates invariably mean that some parts of society are left behind, while other parts race ahead.

IFSEC the biggest global security exhibition of its kind, took place at the NEC in Birmingham in May, so the Netwatch staff packed our bags and headed to the UK for this week long exhibition, imagine our surprise when we landed and realized we were in Chinatown, fear not we learned a lot from our exhibiting neighbors.

The show was divided into 6 Product Areas (CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, Integrated & Network Security, Public Security & Security Solutions), and we were based on the AdPro stand in the CCTV area, where we displayed our Installer Partner Programme and our new Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU). It was great to meet the AdPro team from around the world such as Daniel Apostol, Product Manager in Switzerland and Kim Loy, the Xtralis Vice President from the USA.

The newest technology and fresh ideas were on display at the show and we in Netwatch are proud to say we are up there with the very best when it comes to new technology and ideas.  Visitors to our stand were impressed with our proactive high quality service, where the customer is king. It was a great week and although the Netwatch staff arrived home weary we will be back again next year.
