Employee of the Year 2011 PDF Print E-mail

Our second Employee of the Year awards took place recently in the beautiful surroundings of the Step House Hotel in Borris, Co. Carlow.

The event is a celebration of employees who have gone above and beyond for Netwatch in the past year and the achievements of the Netwatch team as a whole and is a great way of getting us all together.

David Walsh, our Group CEO said the night honoured all staff and how we as a team rose to the challenges and through hard work and dedication grew the business significantly in 2011.

The Award Winners on the night included 2 Special Merit Awards; the first to Des O’Brien, an Installation Engineer with Netwatch who is described by his peers as “having an infectious laugh and who is nothing less than exceptional at his job” and by customers as being “one of a kind” and an employee that “they would dearly love to have.”

The other Special Merit Award was presented to Command Centre Supervisor, Kim Hayden Hurley who is described as an exemplary employee with fantastic natural leadership ability who is a constant support and motivator for her team and goes above and beyond for our customers.

The Lifetime Contribution Award went to Gerry Farrell who has worked with Netwatch in our Communications Hub from the very start, such dedication is the hallmark of Netwatch staff.  According to David Walsh, the award was in recognition of the immense quantity and quality of work which Gerry has undertaken throughout his years with the company, joining when it was just a fledging, he has answered the call on every single occasion and he is known to everyone as the man who can be relied upon consistently.

The night, of course, belonged to the Overall Winner of the Employee of the Year 2011 Award, receptionist, Alison Mullins. A lady who stands out from the crowd and makes a difference, someone who improves the quality of other people’s lives in the organisation, along with improving the customer experience, she has been praised as ‘consistently delivering a high level of service and continuously helping others in the organisation’.  Alison was an extremely popular winner and received a standing ovation from her fellow employees as she accepted the award.  She has been dubbed by customers, management and staff as the ‘Director or First Impressions’.
