New Security System From Netwatch [Retail News]
Netwatch Ireland has launched a next-generation security system that they claim deters criminals in 99% of recorded break-ins. Established six months ago, Netwatch has installed its state-of-the-art security systems in sites throughout Ireland including factories, warehouses, garages and large retail premises.
Incorporating advanced alarm technology with modern CCTV techniques, Netwatch is an intelligent security system which allows the command centre to watch in 'real-time' the intrusion taking place at premises and, more importantly, to speak directly to the criminal before they commit the crime. Knowing that they are being watched and that the Gardaí have been notified is a huge deterrent - in 99% of cases recorded, the intruder leaves the premises without committing a crime.
According to David Walsh, Sales Director and co-founder of Netwatch, standard burglar alarms are only activated when the intrusion has taken place and the damage has been done. "CCTV only records events for viewing at a later stage and is not in itself an effective deterrent, as we can see every month from the number of clips shown on programmes such as Crime Line. On-site security guards are expensive, can only be in one place at a time and are open to intimidation and corruption. With Netwatch, it is as if every camera on-site is a guard on duty 24 hours a day with no sacrifice to alertness, personal safety or integrity."
